The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that a combination of clouds and sunshine is expected over the coming days, with some areas likely to experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by strong winds. The changing weather pattern is expected to provide temporary relief from the intense summer heat affecting much of the province.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 39 degrees Celsius during the day. Residents may witness periods of sunshine alternating with cloudy skies as the weather system remains active over the region.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert warning of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and possible hailstorms in various parts of the province. The authority has advised local administrations to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to address any weather-related emergencies.

According to the PDMA spokesperson, rainfall is expected in several districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, the Galiyat region, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Wazirabad. Other nearby areas may also receive scattered showers depending on the movement and intensity of the weather system.

Officials have warned that strong winds and isolated hailstorms could affect transportation, electricity infrastructure, and agricultural activities in some regions. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions and to stay informed through official weather updates.

The current spell of unstable weather comes at a time when temperatures have remained above seasonal averages in many parts of Punjab. Rainfall associated with the system is expected to lower temperatures slightly and improve overall weather conditions in affected districts.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have urged the public to exercise caution, particularly in areas prone to urban flooding, falling trees, or power disruptions during strong storms.

Weather experts expect conditions to gradually improve after June 20 as the system weakens and moves away from the region, although localized showers may still occur in some areas.
