Rihanna faces backlash over son’s stage appearance

Rihanna’s rare appearance on stage with A$AP Rocky has sparked criticism after the singer and entrepreneur brought their three-year-old son, Riot Rose, onto the stage during a concert in Copenhagen.

Fan-recorded videos showed Rihanna holding Riot as she joined Rocky during the final moments of the show. The 38-year-old star was seen smiling and recording the moment on her phone as the audience watched.

Rocky ended the concert by performing his 2015 track “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2” with a megaphone. As the performance came to an end, he handed the microphone to Riot, allowing the toddler to briefly acknowledge the crowd.

Rihanna and Rocky appeared in coordinated black outfits, while their son wore a matching grey lounge set. The couple then shared a family moment before Rocky thanked the audience and encouraged concertgoers to return home safely.

The footage quickly circulated online and prompted concerns from some fans about Riot being exposed to the loud sound levels at the concert.

Several social media users questioned whether adequate hearing protection had been provided for the young child. Others criticised the decision to bring a toddler onto a concert stage, arguing that young children require additional protection from loud music and bright stage effects.

Riot is no stranger to his father’s performances. Earlier this year, he attended Rocky’s concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, where the rapper acknowledged his son from the stage while Rihanna recorded the moment.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are also parents to RZA, four, and their one-year-old daughter, Rocki. The couple frequently shares glimpses of their family life.

Meanwhile, Rocky is continuing his global “Don’t Be Dumb World Tour” in support of his fourth studio album, “Don’t Be Dumb.” The tour began its North American leg in Chicago on May 27 and is currently moving through Europe, with the final show scheduled for October 11 in Athens, Greece.
