Authorities have decided to further tighten security around Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi amid heightened security concerns.
According to police sources, a new security plan has been prepared for the jail and its surrounding areas. Under the plan, police will establish checkpoints at eight key locations around the prison to monitor movement and prevent any potential security threat.
Police sources said checkpoints will be set up at Dahgal, Gate No. 1, Gate No. 5, the Pharmaceutical Factory and Gorakhpur. Additional checkpoints will also operate near a private housing society in Phase 8, Chakri and Thallian.
