Security tightened around Adiala Jail

Authorities have decided to further tighten security around Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi amid heightened security concerns.

According to police sources, a new security plan has been prepared for the jail and its surrounding areas. Under the plan, police will establish checkpoints at eight key locations around the prison to monitor movement and prevent any potential security threat.

Police sources said checkpoints will be set up at Dahgal, Gate No. 1, Gate No. 5, the Pharmaceutical Factory and Gorakhpur. Additional checkpoints will also operate near a private housing society in Phase 8, Chakri and Thallian.

A total of 435 police personnel will perform security duties under the new arrangements. Officials from the Riot Management Unit, district police, Elite Force and Dolphin Force will jointly oversee security around the jail.

The security plan also calls for the closure of petrol stations, hotels and shops located along the route from Dahgal to Gorakhpur. Police will closely monitor unnecessary movement in the vicinity of the prison and take action against any suspicious activity.

Authorities have instructed security personnel to maintain strict vigilance around the jail, while the additional checkpoints are expected to help regulate traffic and keep a closer watch on people and vehicles approaching the facility.
