Pakistani actress Sehar Hashmi has spoken about recent discussions surrounding her social media post, alleged on-set behaviour issues and comparisons with Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi.
The actress, who is currently appearing in television dramas Zanjeerain and Shaidai, discussed the matter during an interview on a YouTube show.
Talking about her earlier post regarding “cold behaviour” on the sets of Zanjeerain, Sehar clarified that her comments were not aimed at any particular actor.
She said the shooting environment was difficult due to cold weather and the intense nature of the drama’s storyline. According to her, emotional scenes and dark themes can also affect the mood of actors during filming.
Sehar said she had a positive experience working with the cast and shared a good working relationship with several co-stars, including Sajal Aly, Danyal Zafar and others.
She praised Sajal Aly for appreciating her performance and said she would like to work with her again in future projects.
Addressing speculation about Danyal Zafar’s behaviour, Sehar said the issue was not related to her main co-stars, director or producer.
She explained that some behind-the-scenes staff members had displayed unfriendly behaviour, which made her uncomfortable. She added that she prefers to distance herself from situations where she feels disrespected.
The actress also said that social media reactions often differ when female actors share their opinions compared to male actors.
Meanwhile, Sehar also responded to comparisons with Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi due to her willingness to perform romantic scenes on screen.
She said actors follow the script and the director’s vision, and such scenes are part of storytelling when required by the role.
Sehar added that she respects audience opinions and will remain mindful of viewers’ reactions, but requested people not to single her out for scenes that are part of a professional performance.
