Shay Rudolph joins ‘Off Campus’ as Dean’s sister

Prime Video’s Off Campus is expanding its Briar University story with a new cast addition. Shay Rudolph has joined Season 2 as Summer Di Laurentis, the younger sister of Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn.

Deadline confirmed Rudolph’s casting, reporting that the actress will appear in a guest role as production continues on the upcoming season. Details about Summer’s storyline have not yet been revealed.

Rudolph’s arrival brings another character from Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Off Campus book series into the television adaptation.

Summer is part of the Di Laurentis family, making her introduction particularly notable as the series prepares to shift its focus toward Dean and Allie Hayes.

Kalyn is set to reprise his role as Dean, while Mika Abdalla returns as Allie. Their relationship will take center stage in the second season, following the first season’s adaptation of The Deal, which focused on Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham.

Season 2 is expected to adapt The Score, the third book in Kennedy’s Off Campus series. The story follows Dean and Allie as their relationship develops, continuing the interconnected romances established throughout the novels.

Entertainment Weekly previously reported that Dean and Allie would be the central couple of the second season, while the wider ensemble is expected to remain part of the series.

For Rudolph, the role adds another young-adult adaptation to her acting career. She is best known for portraying Stacey McGill in Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club. Her casting in Off Campus brings her into another television adaptation based on a popular book series.

While Summer’s storyline remains under wraps, her connection to Dean could give viewers a closer look at his family life and reveal another side of his character beyond his relationship with Allie.
