Six terrorists killed in KP, Balochistan operations

Security forces killed six terrorists in separate operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to state media and security sources.

Four suspected militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Security forces had been monitoring the suspects before launching the operation.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with Afghan currency, was recovered from the militants, according to security sources. The operation was conducted under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam counterterrorism framework.

In a separate incident in Balochistan, two suspected members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army were killed in the Nokcha area following a chase and exchange of fire.

Security sources said the two men had allegedly set fire to an empty water bowser before attempting to escape. Security personnel pursued them, leading to an armed confrontation in which both suspects were killed.

The two were also accused of involvement in previous arson attacks along the N-40 Quetta-Taftan highway, according to security officials.

Security has been increased in the area following the latest operation. Authorities are investigating whether the suspects were linked to earlier attacks involving the burning of vehicles along the highway.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the Dera Ismail Khan operation and said counterterrorism actions would continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework.

The latest operations come amid heightened security concerns across Pakistan following a series of militant attacks in recent months.

Authorities have intensified operations in KP and Balochistan as security forces continue efforts to disrupt militant networks and prevent further attacks.
