KARACHI: Unannounced power outages continued to disrupt daily life in Karachi, with several areas of the city remaining without electricity for hours late into the night.
Residents in multiple localities faced another night of prolonged power cuts as electricity supply remained suspended in different parts of the metropolis. The outages caused difficulties for households, businesses and commuters, particularly during the late-night hours.
Lines Area, Korangi, Orangi Town, Surjani Town and Quaidabad were among the areas where residents reported extended power disruptions. In several localities, electricity remained unavailable for hours, adding to public frustration over the repeated outages.
Power supply also remained disrupted late at night in Hub, Mauripur Road, Machhar Colony, New Karachi, Lyari, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Hawks Bay and Musa Colony, among other areas.
The latest outages came a day after several parts of Karachi experienced similar unannounced load-shedding. The repeated interruptions have raised concerns among residents, who say the lack of a predictable power schedule makes it difficult to manage household and commercial activities.
Citizens have expressed frustration over prolonged outages, particularly at night, when many families rely on electricity for lighting, cooling and other essential needs. Businesses operating during evening and late-night hours have also faced difficulties due to the interruptions.
Residents have called for an improvement in the city’s power supply system and urged the relevant authorities to ensure a reliable electricity supply and provide timely information about any scheduled or emergency outages.
