Qatari mediators are expected to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in New York and separately engage with US officials on Monday or Tuesday, according to an official familiar with the negotiations. The discussions are expected to centre on an amended version of Iran’s seven-day proposal presented during the UN General Assembly.
Araghchi remained in New York after attending the General Assembly. Iranian state media said he would meet mediators to review the latest proposals and developments. The United States has not publicly confirmed who would take part in the discussions.

Meanwhile, Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said Iranian forces had pushed what he described as “enemy forces” away from waters off southern Iran and warned that they would eventually be driven out of the Arabian Sea as well. His remarks were published through his official channels on Monday.
