CHAKWAL:  In a development raising serious questions about administrative transparency and compliance with judicial orders, recently constructed washroom walls at the historic Civil Club Chakwal were found missing during a Lahore High Court-directed inspection on Saturday, triggering fresh controversy over allegations of an attempt to conceal construction allegedly carried out in defiance of a court order.

The disappearance of the structure, whose construction had been witnessed and documented just days earlier, left the petitioner’s counsel, questioning how newly erected walls could vanish before an inspection specifically ordered to establish the facts.

The controversy deepened when Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bilal Bin Abdul Hafeez, confronted with photographs and videos purportedly showing the construction, suggested that such images could also be generated using artificial intelligence.

During Saturday’s inspection, Advocate Hassan Raza Pasha, accompanied by club members and local journalists discovered that the newly erected walls had vanished.

Sources alleged that the structure was demolished overnight and the ground levelled before the inspection.

When Advocate Pasha presented photographs and videos showing labourers constructing the walls, ADC(G) Bilal Bin Abdul Hafeez questioned their authenticity, suggesting similar images could be generated using artificial intelligence.

Despite bricks lying at the site, the official maintained: “No construction is going on at the spot.”

Separately, an FIR registered against the petitioner’s assistant and two club employees over the tree-felling controversy suffered a setback when a local court discharged the assistant, finding mala fide on the Municipal Committee chief officer’s part.

The disappearance of the structure has intensified concerns about possible concealment of evidence and compliance with judicial orders, although responsibility for its removal remains unestablished.
The matter will come before the Lahore High Court again on October 29.
