Punjab authorities have banned the supply, distribution and sale of a specific batch of Glycosting 1ml injection after reports of dangerously slow heart rates in patients.
According to details the Punjab Directorate of Drug Control issued an immediate restriction on the affected batch as a precautionary measure.
Affected injection batch
The alert, issued under Alert No. 125/2026, identifies Glycosting 1ml injection, Batch No. BBG11 with an expiry date of January 2028 as the affected batch. The injection contains two medicines: Glycopyrrolate 0.5mg and Neostigmine Methylsulfate 2.5mg.
Reports From Hospitals
Complaints were reportedly received from different hospitals across Punjab. These included cases in which patients experienced an unusually slow heartbeat after the medicine was used.
The Provincial Quality Control Board has therefore ordered that the affected batch should not be used until further assessment.
Instructions for Hospitals and Pharmacies
Distributors have been directed to immediately stop supplying the affected batch and provide their quality control complaint and drug safety records to the relevant authorities.
Hospitals pharmacies and distributors have also been instructed to quarantine the affected batch and submit its records to the drug inspector.
Public advised not to use affected batch
Patients and members of the public have been advised not to use Glycosting 1ml from Batch BBG11. Anyone who has the affected batch should contact a doctor or pharmacist for guidance rather than using it.
