As part of ongoing enforcement efforts, Wildlife Rangers in Jhang successfully rescued a male black bear that was being kept in illegal captivity and tied with ropes.
According to details, Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Jhang, Saleem Sargana, along with a team of Wildlife Rangers, conducted a special operation and recovered the black bear from unlawful possession. The owner was arrested on the spot for violating the Punjab Wildlife Act.
An FIR has been registered against the suspect at the local police station, and legal proceedings have been initiated. The recovered bear was presented before the Special Judicial Magistrate, who ordered its transfer to the Mini Zoo Bhakkar for proper care and rehabilitation.
The Punjab Wildlife Department reiterated its commitment to protecting endangered and protected wildlife species and ensuring strict enforcement of wildlife conservation laws throughout the province.
