KARACHI: A 15-year-old matriculation student was shot dead during a robbery at his home in the Manghopir area of Karachi, police said.
Police identified the victim as Rosham, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and died at the scene.
According to the victim’s father, Roueidad Hussain, six armed robbers entered their house with the intention of committing a robbery. He said two of the suspects were wearing police uniforms, raising concerns that the group may have posed as law enforcement officials to gain entry into the house.
Speaking to the media, Hussain said he heard suspicious noises and immediately came out of his room to check what was happening. His son also stepped out of another room at the same time. The robbers then opened fire without warning, he said.
“One bullet struck my son in the chest, and he died on the spot,” the grieving father said.
Hussain appealed to senior police officials to take immediate action and arrest those responsible for his son’s killing. He also urged authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and ensure that the perpetrators face justice.
The victim’s family said Rosham was the only brother of eight sisters, making his death a devastating loss for the entire household.
Police have started an investigation into the incident and are working to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the robbery and shooting.
