PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has carried out a reshuffle involving two senior police officers serving in Abbottabad, with the officers exchanging their respective assignments with immediate effect.

According to Notification No. CPO/E-I/Transfer/Posting/2330, issued by the Central Police Office (CPO), Peshawar, on September 23, 2026, SP Cantt Abbottabad Muhammad Suleman, a Pakistan Police Service (PSP) officer of BS-18, has been transferred and posted as SP Traffic Warden Abbottabad.

At the same time, Muhammad Ishtiaq, also a PSP officer of BS-18 and serving as SP Traffic Warden Abbottabad, has been transferred and posted as SP Cantt Abbottabad.

The notification was issued by Provincial Police Officer Zulfiqar Hameed and states that the transfers and postings have been made in the public interest. The orders are effective immediately, requiring both officers to assume their new responsibilities without delay.

The reshuffle effectively amounts to an exchange of assignments between the two senior officers, with Suleman moving from the Cantt police command to traffic management and Ishtiaq shifting from the Traffic Warden setup to the Cantt police division.

The Cantt police assignment carries responsibility for maintaining law and order and overseeing policing matters within the cantonment area. The Traffic Warden assignment, meanwhile, involves supervision of traffic management and enforcement, including measures aimed at maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations.

The changes come as part of the routine administrative and operational adjustments made by the provincial police authorities. Such postings are generally Paimed at ensuring effective deployment of senior officers and maintaining administrative efficiency within different police formations.

With the new assignments taking effect immediately, Muhammad Suleman will now oversee the Traffic Warden operations in Abbottabad, while Muhammad Ishtiaq will assume charge of the Cantt police division.

The Central Police Office notification formally records the transfer and posting of both officers and directs the changes to be implemented accordingly.

The latest move adds to the administrative changes being made within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police as the department continues to adjust the deployment of senior officers across different districts and operational units.
