Dar calls for dialogue to promote regional stability

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and sustained engagement in strengthening peace and stability across the region.

Dar expressed these views during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The two foreign ministers held detailed discussions on Pakistan-Iran relations and exchanged views on a range of regional and international developments. They also reviewed matters of mutual interest and discussed the need for continued diplomatic contacts to address emerging challenges.

Dar emphasised that regular engagement between countries remains important for promoting understanding and reducing tensions in the region. He highlighted the role of diplomacy in resolving differences and encouraging cooperation among neighbouring and regional states.

The meeting comes as regional developments continue to draw international attention, with several issues affecting political and economic stability across the Middle East and South Asia. Pakistan has repeatedly called for peaceful solutions to regional disputes and greater cooperation among countries to maintain stability.
