Although the singer is set to return to the stage this Saturday, September 19, the ongoing drama has reportedly left him questioning whether continuing the controversial tour “is even worth it.”

Just days after Gillette Stadium owner Robert Kraft announced that $2 million from the tour’s earnings would be donated to humanitarian aid for Palestinians, sources close to Sheeran reportedly revealed his feelings about the situation.

An insider told Rob Shuter that “Ed is livid because this has become the exact opposite of what he wanted.”

The source continued, “He wants to walk onstage, play his songs and entertain people. Suddenly, his tour is becoming a referendum on politics.”

“Everything is imploding around him, and Ed is asking whether continuing is even worth it,” another insider reportedly said.

“He would rather pull the plug than spend every night watching his music become secondary to a political fight he never asked to join,” the source added.

Another source said, “Ed doesn’t want to pick a side; he wants out of the fight.”

The announcement of humanitarian aid for Palestinians by Kraft and Sheeran came in response to Macklemore’s challenge.

In an emotional message on Instagram, the “Thrift Shop” vocalist announced a $1 million donation from the earnings of his performance on the Loop Tour with Sheeran.
