QUETTA : In a significant development reflecting growing public disillusionment with anti-state elements, facilitators of the proscribed organization referred to as *Fitna Al-Hindustan (banned BLA)* have announced complete disassociation from terrorist elements and joined the national mainstream.
The individuals, identified as *Mohammad Sohail Behram and Mohammad alias Mehrwan*, residents of Turbat, made the announcement during a press conference and made important confessions.
*WHAT HAPPENED – CONFESSION:*
According to details, both individuals admitted that:
– They came into contact with a terrorist of Fitna Al-Hindustan, identified as *Sabit alias Commandan*, through social media.
– They remained involved in facilitation and providing support to the terrorist organization for attacks on security forces.
– They were also involved in propaganda and facilitation network.
In their press conference, both facilitators expressed deep shame over their actions.
> “We are very ashamed of betraying our country Pakistan and supporting terrorists. We will not keep contact with any terrorist organization in future and the young generation should also stay away from these organizations,” they said.
Both took an oath of loyalty to the state and pledged to live a peaceful life within the national mainstream.
*WHY IT MATTERS – GROWING PUBLIC ANGER AGAINST TERRORISM:*
Officials said this announcement of disassociation from terrorist organizations by facilitators and families of terrorists reflects the growing frustration and disassociation of the Baloch public from unrest, terrorism and anti-state policies.
This is part of a continuing trend seen in recent months in Balochistan:
– In Panjgur, Gwadar and other districts, families of individuals associated with banned outfits have publicly disowned them and expressed loyalty to the state.
– The trend shows that Baloch people reject the narrative of Fitna Al-Hindustan which exploits innocent youth and children for terrorism.
– Security sources say many facilitators were trapped via social media brainwashing.
*BACKGROUND – WHAT IS FITNA AL-HINDUSTAN:*
Fitna Al-Hindustan is the term used for banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its allied terrorist groups, which are involved in attacks on security forces, innocent civilians and development projects in Balochistan. The group has been declared a proscribed terrorist organization.
The group has recently been involved in exploitation of minors, as seen in recent cases where two underage brothers from Panjgur surrendered.
*OFFICIAL VIEW:*
Security officials termed the press conference as a positive sign that the state’s reconciliation policy and national mainstreaming efforts are yielding results. The surrender and apology of facilitators weakens the support network of the terrorist organization.
The facilitators have been taken into custody for further legal process and de-radicalization under relevant laws, with an opportunity given to reform and reintegrate.
*MESSAGE TO YOUTH:*
In their statement, Sohail and Mehrwan specifically appealed to Baloch youth: “Do not fall into the trap of social media handlers sitting abroad. These organizations use you and then abandon you. There is no future in terrorism, future is in Pakistan.
