Four suspects arrested within hours of Parachinar murder

PARACHINAR: Kurram police have arrested four suspects allegedly linked to the killing of a man in the Baghdai area of Parachinar within eight hours of the incident, as investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

According to police officials, unidentified armed men entered the house of Hussain Ghulam in Baghdai Parao Kalay, a border area of Kurram district, at around 3:30 a.m. and opened indiscriminate fire.

The attack resulted in the death of Abid Hussain, son of Hussain Ghulam and a resident of Baghdai. The attackers fled the area shortly after the shooting.

The incident prompted immediate action from District Police Officer Kurram Malik Habib Khan, who took serious notice of the killing and ordered officers to make every effort to trace and arrest those responsible.

SP Operations Falak Nawaz Bangash, DSP Circle Mazhar Ali, SHO Pewar Police Station Wajid and other police officials were directed to intensify the search for the suspects. Police checkpoints were also established at various locations across the district to prevent the suspects from escaping.

As security checks were stepped up, police teams began monitoring key routes and conducting searches at checkpoints.

During the operation, a police team led by SHO Ahmadi Shama (Chapri) Amjad Khan intercepted and arrested four suspects at the Chapri checkpoint.

Police identified the suspects as Javed Hussain, son of Shabbir Hussain and resident of Kachkina; Arbab Hussain, son of Mansab Ali and resident of Baghdai; Mujahid Hussain, son of Arif Hussain and resident of Malikhel; and Mudassar Hussain, son of Jamal Hussain.

According to police, Mujahid Hussain has been described as an alleged hired assassin. Officials said all four suspects were arrested in an injured condition and were taken to the police station along with the motor car allegedly used in the attack.

The arrests mark a significant development in the case, but police have stressed that the investigation is still underway. Investigators are examining the suspects’ possible roles, the circumstances of the shooting and the motive behind the attack.

Preliminary investigation has led police to suspect that the killing may have stemmed from an old enmity, although officials have not yet disclosed further details about the alleged dispute.

Police said all aspects of the case are being investigated and further action will be taken as evidence emerges.
