LAHORE: Government College University (GCU) Lahore student and Falcon Triathlon Club member Faizan Ahmed has completed a challenging 1,100-kilometre running journey from Lahore to Skardu in 22 days.
Faizan reached Skardu on Thursday, completing the long-distance running challenge that took him from the plains of Punjab through the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The demanding route included several difficult locations, including Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas and Raikot. During the journey, Faizan faced long distances, steep climbs, difficult terrain and changing weather conditions.
Over the course of 22 days, he covered a total distance of 1,100 kilometres on foot. The challenge required sustained physical effort as he travelled through some of the country’s most difficult mountain routes.
Faizan dedicated his running journey to the martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces and police. Through the challenge, he paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The GCU student also used the journey to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use. He highlighted the importance of protecting young people from drug abuse and encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyles.
Throughout his journey, Faizan interacted with people in different towns, settlements and communities along the route. He used these interactions to spread his anti-drug awareness message and encourage communities, particularly young people, to understand the harmful effects of substance abuse.
His 1,100-kilometre journey from Lahore to Skardu combined endurance running with a message of tribute, public awareness and youth-focused social responsibility.
