Government employees staged a protest on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad on Friday. They gathered in large numbers and moved towards Parliament House.
Police stopped the protesters from advancing. Tension quickly escalated between the demonstrators and law enforcement personnel. During the confrontation, one protester was injured, officials confirmed.
Islamabad Police detained several participants of the protest. Security was tightened around Parliament House as employees continued their demonstration outside the premises.
According to police sources, the situation turned tense when protesters attempted to enter restricted areas. This led to a brief clash between police and demonstrators.
Protest leaders said the demonstration would continue until their demands are accepted. They maintained that employees will remain outside Parliament House until the government responds.

He demanded that all promises made in the March 10, 2025 agreement be fully implemented. He also urged that employee demands be included in the upcoming federal budget.
He further demanded that all ad-hoc relief allowances be merged into basic salary. He called for a revised pay scale system for 2026.
He also demanded a 100 percent inclusion of ad-hoc relief allowances in salaries. Employees earning less than 50,000 rupees monthly should be given a 50 percent salary increase, he added.
Other demands included a 200 percent increase in house rent, medical, and conveyance allowances. Protest leaders also called for reversal of pension reforms and continuation of the existing pension system.
They further demanded a 30 percent disparity reduction allowance to address salary differences among government employees. Teachers and researchers were also asked to be exempted from the 25 percent tax slab, with refunds of deducted amounts.
The protesters also demanded regularization of daily-wage and contract employees. They called for reinstatement of employment quotas for families of deceased employees.

Meanwhile, officials confirmed that federal budget documents for the fiscal year 2026–27 have been delivered to Parliament House. Preparations are underway for the budget presentation in the National Assembly.
