Hasnain’s century, Dahani’s five-for light up President’s Trophy

Hasnain Nadeem’s fluent century and impressive bowling spells from Khalid Usman and Shahnawaz Dahani highlighted an action-packed second day of the fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I on Wednesday.

At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Hasnain turned an overnight score of 87 into a superb 121 as MIT Solutions were dismissed for 223 in their first innings. His 18 fours and a six underlined a dominant batting display.

OGDCL responded with Rohail Nazir making 52 from 110 balls, but Khalid Usman tore through their batting line-up with six wickets. OGDCL were bowled out for 193, handing MIT Solutions a 30-run first-innings advantage.

MIT Solutions then lost one wicket while reaching 29 by the close.

In Islamabad, Shahnawaz Dahani delivered another standout performance, claiming five wickets as Kingsmen Academy were dismissed for 217 at the Diamond Cricket Ground. Mohammad Shayan top-scored with 66, while Shehzad Gul supported Dahani with four wickets.

SNGPL made steady progress in reply, reaching 140 for two at stumps. Test opener Azan Awais remained unbeaten on 53, while former Pakistan captain Shan Masood was not out on 45. The pair had put together an 81-run partnership for the third wicket.

At Abbottabad, PTV strengthened their position against Ghani after dismissing their opponents for just 102. Haris Rauf claimed four wickets, while Israr Hussain and Kashif Ali took three each.

PTV’s Taimur narrowly missed a century, scoring 97, while Yasir Khan made 71. Mohammad Ammar remained unbeaten on 80 as PTV reached 324 for four.

Meanwhile, KRL struggled against State Bank of Pakistan in Peshawar, finishing at 127 for eight after rain washed out the opening day. Mohammad Abbas and Shahid Aziz took three wickets apiece.
