Iranian missile strike kills 2 US soldiers in Jordan, CENTCOM

AMMAN: Two American service members were killed and four others wounded during an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack targeting military positions in Jordan, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday, marking one of the deadliest incidents involving US forces in the region in recent months.

According to a statement issued by CENTCOM, the casualties occurred while US and allied forces were actively defending against a large-scale wave of Iranian missile and drone strikes. The attack formed part of a broader escalation in regional tensions that has seen Iran and the United States exchange military actions across the Middle East.

CENTCOM said the two soldiers died in the course of defensive operations as forces worked to intercept incoming threats. The military also confirmed that four additional American personnel sustained injuries during the attack and are receiving medical treatment.
