Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has paid tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the September 6, 1965 war, saying their sacrifices remain a source of pride and inspiration for the entire nation.
In his message on Defence and Martyrs’ Day, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan’s armed forces demonstrated extraordinary courage and made immense sacrifices while defending the country on September 6, 1965.
He said the sacrifices of the martyrs and Ghazis (veterans) were a matter of national pride and would continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations.
The deputy prime minister also paid tribute to the families of the martyrs, acknowledging their remarkable sacrifices and steadfast support for the country.
Referring to more recent military engagements, Ishaq Dar said the armed forces had once again demonstrated exceptional courage during the “Battle of Truth” and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
He also lauded the sacrifices of security forces personnel who lost their lives while fighting terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying their services and sacrifices would always be remembered.
Ishaq Dar stressed that a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute was essential for achieving lasting peace and stability in South Asia.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests, saying the country would confront every challenge with confidence, dignity and determination.
