ISLAMABAD: Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, the President and the Acting Rector of International Islamic University Islamabad, has paid tribute to the courage of Pakistan on its Defense Day today.
He appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and sustainability. “On this Defense Day, I join my Pakistani brethren in paying tribute to the courage, dedication and professionalism of Pakistan’s Armed Forces. It is also a day to honour the martyrs, who gave their lives in defence of their land and people.”
“As a Saudi and as the President and Acting Rector of the International Islamic University Islamabad, this tribute is deeply personal for me. Pakistan has come to feel like home,” he said.
“The bond between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan has been further affirmed through the recent Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. This agreement is a testament to the profound trust and brotherhood between our nations,” he said.
“In that spirit, I cannot regard Pakistan’s Armed Forces as Pakistan’s alone; they are partners in our shared security, and I salute them today with a personal sense of pride and fraternity,” he said.
He prayed, “May Allah protect Pakistan, its people and its defenders, and strengthen the bonds that unite our nations and the Muslim Ummah.”
