Police have registered a case against a man accused of assaulting a local resident and allegedly subjecting his wife

LAHORE/SYEDWALA: Police have registered a case against a man accused of assaulting a local resident and allegedly subjecting his wife to sexual assault and blackmail for several months in the Syedwala area.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Case No. 452/26 was registered on September 25, 2026, under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of the alleged female victim.

The complainant told police that the accused initially allegedly assaulted her husband, identified as Javed Iqbal, and subjected him to torture and an alleged unnatural assault.

According to the account recorded in the FIR, the situation later escalated when the accused allegedly entered the couple’s residence. The complainant alleged that the suspect assaulted her while displaying a firearm and subsequently recorded an objectionable video of the incident.

The FIR further alleges that the accused later used the video to threaten and blackmail the woman. According to the complaint, the suspect allegedly continued to sexually assault her over a period of approximately six months while using the recorded material as a means of coercion.

The complainant approached police and sought legal action against the accused, alleging that she had been subjected to prolonged threats, blackmail and sexual violence.

Following the complaint, Syedwala Police registered the case and initiated an investigation into the allegations. Police officials said efforts are underway to locate and arrest the nominated accused.

According to police, investigation teams are conducting raids at different locations in an attempt to trace the suspect. Investigators are also examining the circumstances described in the FIR and collecting evidence that may help establish the sequence of events.

Police said the medical examination of the alleged victims would be conducted in accordance with legal and procedural requirements. The examination and other forensic procedures are expected to form part of the evidence being collected during the investigation.

Investigators are also expected to examine any available digital evidence, including the alleged video mentioned in the complaint, along with other material relevant to the allegations.

Officials said the case is being investigated under the supervision of the Station House Officer (SHO) Syedwala, with police teams directed to complete the investigation according to law.

The police have not yet announced an arrest in the case at the time of filing this report. Further action will be taken after the accused is traced and the available evidence is examined.

The allegations contained in the FIR have not been independently established in court. The registration of a case does not by itself establish the guilt of the accused, and the final determination will depend on the evidence collected during the investigation and subsequent judicial proceedings.

Police officials said all relevant aspects of the complaint would be investigated and that legal proceedings would continue in accordance with the law.
