Mastung hotel reduced to rubble in blast

A blast destroyed a local hotel in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Monday night, damaging several nearby houses and more than 250 solar panels. No casualties were reported in the incident.

The explosion occurred at Madina Hotel in the Khadkocha area of Mastung. According to police, the building was completely destroyed by the blast, while nearby residential properties suffered partial damage.

Mastung Superintendent of Police Allah Bakhsh said no one was inside the hotel when the explosion occurred. This prevented any loss of life or injuries.

Police immediately sealed off the area after the blast and began collecting evidence from the site. A search operation was also launched in the surrounding area as investigators worked to determine the cause and nature of the explosion.

Authorities have started an investigation into the incident. Officials have not yet disclosed who may have been responsible for the blast or what type of explosive device was used.

The incident comes amid continued security concerns in different parts of Balochistan, where several explosions involving improvised explosive devices have been reported in recent months.

On June 30, three brothers were killed and another person was injured when an IED targeted a vehicle in Luni tehsil of Dukki district. Police said the men were travelling through a stream near Killi Bakhtiar Khan for agricultural work when the attack occurred.

Earlier, on June 25, a man was killed in Ormara, Gwadar district, after an IED attached to a motorcycle exploded as he attempted to start the vehicle.

Police subsequently cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into that incident as well
