Rawalpindi: Funeral prayers for the martyrs of a tragic MI-17 helicopter crash in Muzaffarabad were offered on Thursday at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, with full state and military honours.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, senior cabinet members, top civil and military leadership, and families of the martyrs.
A large number of senior officials and members of civil society were also present to pay tribute to the deceased personnel who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
Earlier, separate funeral services were held for two Christian soldiers at Christ Church, Rawalpindi. The services were attended by both political and military leadership, reflecting national unity in honouring the fallen personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the professionalism, dedication, and sacrifice of the martyrs, stating that their commitment to defending the country will continue to inspire future generations.
He said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces for national security, peace, and sovereignty will always be remembered with respect and gratitude. He also assured that the nation stands firmly with the families of the martyrs in their moment of grief.
