Operation Shaaban, three more militants killed in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed three more militants during the ongoing Operation Shaaban, as the military intensifies its campaign against militant groups in Balochistan through coordinated air and ground operations.

According to security sources, the operation is being carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and the police, with the aim of dismantling militant hideouts and restoring security in affected areas.

Officials said security forces continue to conduct targeted operations against militants referred to by the Pakistani government as Fitna al-Khawarij. The latest action involved coordinated aerial and ground strikes that successfully targeted militant positions, resulting in the confirmed deaths of three militants.

Security sources said the operation has inflicted significant losses on militant networks operating in the region, with forces maintaining pressure through intelligence-led missions and sustained military action.

With the latest development, the number of militants killed during Operation Shaaban has risen to 88, according to official figures. Authorities added that the operation has successfully targeted several suspected militant hideouts, disrupting their ability to operate in the area.

Officials further stated that since July 5, a total of 126 militants have been killed in Operation Shaaban and other intelligence-based operations conducted across the province.

The security campaign is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to counter militancy and improve law and order in Balochistan, where security forces have increased operations following a series of attacks targeting both civilians and security personnel.

Authorities reaffirmed that the operation will continue until militant networks are dismantled and the security situation is fully stabilized. They emphasized that intelligence-driven operations remain a key component of the country’s counterterrorism strategy.

Security officials also praised the close coordination among the military, FC and police, saying the joint approach has strengthened operational effectiveness and enabled forces to respond swiftly to intelligence about militant movements.

The government has repeatedly stated that it remains committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace across the country. Officials say Operation Shaaban will continue alongside other intelligence-based operations until all identified militant threats are neutralized and stability is restored in Balochistan.
