Opposition parties set to discuss joint parliamentary strategy

ISLAMABAD: Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has said that opposition parties will hold a joint parliamentary meeting on Monday evening to discuss important political and legislative matters.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament House, Raja Nasir Abbas said the meeting of the united parliamentary opposition would take place at 6pm.

He said the session would focus on parliamentary affairs and efforts to build consensus among opposition parties on key political issues. The meeting is expected to provide a platform for opposition lawmakers to coordinate their positions on matters being discussed in Parliament.

According to Abbas, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is also likely to attend the meeting. His participation could further strengthen coordination among opposition groups at the parliamentary level.

The Senate opposition leader said the opposition had agreed to pursue a joint struggle on parliamentary matters. He added that the parties would work together and formulate common positions on legislation and other important issues.

Members of both the National Assembly and Senate are expected to participate in the meeting. The opposition is likely to review ongoing parliamentary developments and discuss a coordinated strategy for future proceedings.

Abbas maintained that collective decision-making would be adopted on legislation and other matters of mutual concern. He said greater coordination among opposition parties was necessary to effectively raise their concerns and strengthen their role in Parliament.

The meeting is expected to bring representatives of different opposition groups together and provide an opportunity to discuss political differences, parliamentary priorities and areas where consensus can be developed.
