Bürgenstock, Switzerland — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed hope that the success of technical-level talks between the United States and Iran will contribute to global peace, stability, development and prosperity.
Addressing the opening session of the US-Iran technical discussions held under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the dialogue represents an important opportunity for international peace and cooperation.
The Prime Minister appreciated the leadership of US President Donald Trump, saying that his vision and statesmanship helped make the talks possible. He also highlighted the important role of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in supporting efforts that brought the parties together.
