Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the growing cooperation between Pakistan and the Muslim World League in efforts to counter extremism and Islamophobia.
The Prime Minister held a meeting with Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, in Islamabad.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki were also present during the meeting.
According to an official statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz welcomed Dr. Al-Issa’s participation in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) ministerial conference and thanked him for attending the important event.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the Muslim World League’s role in addressing challenges faced by the Muslim world.
He appreciated the organisation’s efforts for promoting peace, dialogue and cooperation among Muslim countries.
Shehbaz Sharif also praised the role of the Muslim World League in the current regional situation and stressed the need for collective efforts to address common challenges.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the partnership between Pakistan and the organisation in combating extremism, intolerance and Islamophobia.
He also conveyed his best wishes and greetings for Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the meeting, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s role in recent peace initiatives in the region.
He also praised the efforts of Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Field Marshal in connection with the signing of the Islamabad Understanding.
Both sides agreed to continue close cooperation on shared priorities and strengthen their partnership in areas of mutual interest.
