A division bench consisting of Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Inamullah Khan heard a petition challenging the recruitment process for medical officers, dental surgeons, and nurses appointed on a fixed-pay basis.

During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer, Manzoor Bashir, raised objections over the recruitment procedure and questioned the transparency of the selection process.

The lawyer argued that the scrutiny and selection committees formed for the recruitment process were not constituted according to the relevant rules. He claimed that officials who were not directly related to the recruitment process were included in the committees, which affected the fairness of the selection procedure.

The petitioner’s counsel further alleged that the recruitment process lacked transparency and that some candidates who were selected did not fulfill the eligibility requirements mentioned in the official advertisement.

After reviewing the arguments, the court issued notices to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the Health Secretary, and other concerned parties, directing them to submit their responses within two weeks.

The court also restrained the provincial government from taking any final decision on the disputed recruitment process until the next hearing.
