Rangers official martyred in armed attack in Rawalakot

A Rangers official was martyred after armed men attacked security forces in Rawalakot, according to officials.

The incident took place on July 14 near the Matial Meera Bus Terminal area. Officials said armed members of the banned Joint Action Committee opened fire in a civilian area after failing to achieve their alleged objectives.

The attack created panic among local residents. Following the firing, police personnel moved to the area to restore peace and maintain law and order.

Rangers personnel also arrived to assist the police operation. However, the armed attackers allegedly targeted security forces with direct gunfire using modern weapons.

A Rangers official lost his life in the attack. Security authorities paid tribute to the martyred personnel and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security.

Security experts described the use of advanced weapons and explosive material by the armed group as evidence of a planned terrorist activity.

They said attacks on security forces and state institutions were a serious threat to public safety and national stability.

Experts stressed that strict legal action should be taken against those involved in such attacks. They added that maintaining the state’s writ and protecting citizens remained the top priority of state institutions.
