Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee reviewing preparations for the regional sporting event. The dates were finalised in coordination with the South Asian Olympic Committee.
As many as 28 sports will be contested, with more than 6,000 athletes and officials expected to take part.
The meeting also approved the appointment of a National Coordinator and finalised the composition of the Steering, Organising and Provincial Committees.
Dar directed the relevant authorities to maintain close coordination, complete sporting venues on time and ensure high standards for hosting the Games.
He further ordered the Steering Committee to meet every month to review preparations and monitor progress.
