Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Saqib Chadhar has levelled serious allegations against Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal and her sister, Ramsha Iqbal, amid their ongoing legal dispute.
The controversy between Iqbal and Chadhar has continued for several months. The actress had previously claimed in an Instagram post that she was being harassed by a provincial assembly member, after which Chadhar’s name emerged in connection with the allegations.
Momina Iqbal subsequently took the matter to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), while Chadhar also presented his position before the authorities.
In his first detailed interview on the matter, Chadhar made a series of claims concerning Momina Iqbal and her sister.
Regarding Ramsha Iqbal, Chadhar claimed that he had helped take her to Australia for higher education and had also provided her with a job at his security company there.
He alleged that Ramsha later filed a harassment case in Australia against his business partner and sought $1 million in damages. According to Chadhar, the dispute was eventually settled for $165,000, which he claimed Ramsha subsequently brought to Pakistan.
Chadhar further alleged that the two sisters attempted to adopt a similar approach against him.
He also made claims concerning Momina Iqbal’s personal life, alleging that she knew he was already married but was nevertheless willing to become his second wife.
Chadhar claimed that he was unaware of Momina’s reported marriage in 2018 and her subsequent divorce. He said he later learned about the marriage and also became aware of her former husband.
The PML-N lawmaker further alleged that Momina Iqbal’s lawyer contacted him and demanded Rs200 million to settle the dispute.
According to Chadhar, after he refused to pay the amount, an offer of Rs90 million was allegedly made, while he claimed that Momina Iqbal wanted the matter settled for Rs110 million.
As what he described as evidence supporting his claims, Chadhar presented material relating to a meeting with Momina Iqbal’s lawyer, along with an alleged settlement agreement.
