Combs is serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

His release date has been revised several times. It was previously listed as Feb. 5, 2028, according to records reviewed by The Washington Post earlier this month, before being moved forward to Jan. 21.

The latest change came as NBC News reported that four men who had spent time in Combs’ prison unit alleged that he had used money to pay other inmates for cooking, cleaning and massages.

The men, who spoke anonymously, also alleged that Combs had access to contraband including a cellphone and alcohol. NBC News said it reviewed photographs and videos from inside the prison that appeared to show Combs using a contraband phone.

One of the men said Combs spent thousands of dollars a month, with money from outside the prison transferred into the commissary accounts of inmates who performed services for him, according to NBC News.

The former inmates also alleged that other prisoners prepared special meals for Combs, including curry chicken, pizza and empanadas, and that he received massages.

One man told NBC News he had drunk Hennessy with Combs, while other sources alleged that premium alcohol was smuggled into the prison by guards.

NBC News also reported that Combs entered a drug-treatment programme after arriving at Fort Dix but was later removed from it following a fight with another inmate.

A spokesperson for Combs dismissed the reports, saying the scrutiny of his prison life had turned “ordinary prison life” into news. The spokesperson said the “only real news” was that Combs continued to serve his sentence while awaiting the outcome of his appeal.

A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson declined to comment on Combs’ specific circumstances, citing privacy, safety and security reasons. The spokesperson said contraband, including cellphones, narcotics and weapons, remained a persistent challenge at correctional facilities.
