Second suspect arrested in Lahore gang rape case

A woman has been arrested for allegedly facilitating the gang rape of a foreign woman in Lahore’s Defence area, police said.

According to police, the woman was taken into custody in connection with the alleged assault, which reportedly took place three days ago. Investigators are continuing efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the role of those allegedly involved.

Police also confirmed the arrest of the second suspect in the case. The suspect was detained in Chishtian and is expected to be presented before a court along with the other arrested suspect today.

Authorities said raids are being conducted at different locations to arrest the third suspect. Police are also searching for the two mobile phones belonging to the foreign woman, which have not yet been recovered.

According to police officials, the suspects allegedly intimidated the woman during the assault by claiming that they had influential connections. Officials said the men accused of carrying out the alleged assault are between 25 and 30 years old.

The case remains under investigation, while police are working to locate the remaining suspect and recover the missing mobile phones. Further legal proceedings will be initiated after the suspects are produced before the court.
