HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh President Nisar Khuhro has said that Sindh cannot be divided under the Constitution emphasizing the role of the provincial assembly and constitutional protections for provincial autonomy.
Addressing a conference in Hyderabad Khuhro stated that the PPP had previously passed resolutions opposing the division of Sindh the Kalabagh Dam project and the Greater Thal Canal.
Khuhro also highlighted the significance of the 18th Constitutional Amendment describing it as a safeguard for provincial autonomy. He maintained that Sindh could not be divided without the approval of its provincial assembly.
His remarks underline the PPP’s position on protecting Sindh’s territorial integrity and preserving the constitutional framework governing relations between the federal government and the provinces.
