SOUTH WAZIRISTAN UPPER :Six police personnel, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were abducted by unidentified armed men in the Sararogha area of Upper South Waziristan on Wednesday, police officials said.

According to police sources, the personnel were returning after inspecting the site of an explosion when they were intercepted by armed assailants who had set up a checkpoint along the route. The gunmen reportedly stopped the police vehicle and took the six officials to an undisclosed location.

The abducted officers include SHO Ahmad Shah and five other police personnel. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding their whereabouts or condition.

Following the incident, police and security forces launched a large-scale search operation in the area and intensified security measures, including the establishment of additional checkpoints and road blockades. Officials said efforts were underway to secure the safe recovery of the abducted personnel.

Security officials have also initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the identity of the perpetrators and the circumstances surrounding the abduction.

No group had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping at the time of filing this report.

The incident has heightened concerns among the families of the abducted officers, who are anxiously awaiting information about their loved ones. Security has been placed on high alert in Sararogha and adjoining areas as authorities continue their search and recovery efforts.
