Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, is due to join Slipknot at London’s Wembley Stadium and on several dates in South America.
Some fans said on social media that they would boycott the shows or would not buy tickets because of Manson’s inclusion.
One fan wrote, “Would’ve loved to see this but there’s literally nothing you could do to get my cash in Manson’s pockets,” while another described the announcement as “such a disappointment” and said they would not attend.
Other fans welcomed the pairing, with some pointing to the overlap between the two artists’ audiences and describing Manson as a suitable support act.
