What feminism costs men in 21st Century

For thousands of generations, women have heavily depended on men not only financially but in order to get accepted into the society. Marrying a man was a form of respect and those without husbands were often suffering catastrophes. Their sole purpose was to act as a trophy wife which kept the society balanced for successive cohorts . They were not allowed to vote, own property, or even go outside without a man by their side. It seemed like a fair exchange, the man provides financial and moral protection while the wife takes care of the household and children. 

Consequently, with the rise of a new movement known as “feminism” -also referred to as “zionist propaganda” by misogynists- this fair trade started feeling like a debt. As women progressed in the west they started realizing they can offer themselves protection, reshape the society and its traditional roles. Domestic responsibilities and childcare was merely nothing more than slavery. They realized that their mothers and grandmothers were the last of those innocent women who tolerated a 24/7 workload which was hardly appreciated. 

Women in the 21st century have stopped wanting marriage and children which is costing men more than they thought. They don’t need any security or societal respect that comes from marriage. The birth rate is falling all over the world, especially in women in their 20’s. Now it seems as if men are in desperation of finding a woman to marry- mostly failing since the standards are rising. This feminism movement started as a way to fight for rights of women, but somehow it turned the tables across gender norms. 

Women rights are a complicated matter in many countries including Pakistan. While some women living in developed cities receive expensive education, freedom to choose, other women in the same country are being murdered in the name of “honor killing”. While the educated and high income groups are using contraceptives others in the same country are forced to give birth for decades continuously. Feminism is seen reaching different parts of the same society. 

In many questionnaires done around the world women have stated that marriage is not something they ought to “achieve”. They have become severely selective now that they don’t need any benefits from men.  Our ancestors from not even half a century ago would not believe it if they saw the charts today which include more female students in top universities in countries of all religion and race including the USA and Qatar. The high paid jobs in the west are being dominated by women as well as many European countries being led by women. 

The monetary barter of a relationship has ended with more women finding independence. However, many countries are still following patriarchy such as Afghanistan. Millions of women have found their calling, their success without any support from a husband, nevertheless millions still are oppressed. 

The feminism movement keeps rising, more and more women escaping this male-supremacist  trap. On the other hand this movement gets a fair share of animosity. Though one thing is clear, a great cost is attached for men who cannot bribe women by only having a minimum wage job since women are now upgrading their ways of living as well as the societal norms getting less patriarchal. Women now need mutual comparability. 

Consequently, feminism has become one of the most followed and most criticized movements in today’s world. It has allowed women to receive education, independence, gain identity and build equality. Society is forced to accept these and mainly men are absorbing the economic and social costs for this fundamental change in relationships and the overall influence it has exceeded.
