7 Iranian soldiers killed in US strike

Iran’s military says seven soldiers from the 388th Brigade were killed and several others injured after a US missile strike targeted the Bampur Garrison in Iranshahr, a city in southeastern Iran.

According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, military officials condemned the attack as a “cowardly act of aggression” and warned that Iran would respond at a time and in a manner of its choosing.

The military said US forces fired 13 missiles at the base, hitting several sections of the garrison. The strikes reportedly damaged military barracks, guard posts, a guest house, and residential facilities used by personnel.

Iranian officials claimed that precautionary and passive defence measures helped reduce the number of casualties, despite what they described as an attempt to inflict heavy losses on military personnel.

Meanwhile, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said US attacks across southern Iran over the past several days have killed more than 30 civilians. She accused Washington of expanding its military campaign beyond strategic targets and warned that the continued strikes have increased the humanitarian toll.

The United States has not immediately commented on the latest Iranian claims, and the casualty figures and details of the attack could not be independently verified. Tensions between Tehran and Washington remain high as military exchanges continue across the region.
