Aishwarya Rai ,Kendall Jenner steal spotlight at Paris fashion show

PARIS: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kendall Jenner were among the biggest stars to command attention at L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé in Paris, where celebrities, athletes and fashion personalities gathered for a glamorous opening event for the Spring/Summer 2027 fashion season.

The show was held on September 28 at Place Joffre, with the Eiffel Tower providing a striking backdrop. Titled “Express Your Worth”, the event marked the ninth edition of Le Défilé since its launch in 2017.

Jenner opened the star-studded procession in a floor-length sheer black gown. The high-neck design featured a thigh-high slit and visible ivory lingerie underneath. She completed the look with black stiletto sandals after arriving in Paris following her appearance at Bottega Veneta’s show in Milan.

Rai Bachchan brought dramatic glamour to the runway in a custom Yara Shoemaker creation styled by Mohit Rai. Her black two-piece velvet gown featured three-dimensional fringe embroidery and a crystal-covered cape.

The Indian actress added diamond jewellery and pumps to the ensemble. Her newly dyed fiery red hair, winged eyeliner and bold red lipstick gave the look an even more striking finish.

Hollywood legend Jane Fonda also attracted strong attention. The 88-year-old actress appeared in a floor-length red sequin gown featuring a twist-front neckline and a subtle keyhole detail.

Heidi Klum opted for a plunging black sequined wrap-style gown, while Simone Ashley walked in a sleek nude dress with thin straps, a side slit and metallic heels.

Eva Longoria brought a powerful touch to the runway in a black jumpsuit with a deep neckline, fitted satin waist and wide-leg trousers. She accessorised the outfit with a chunky metallic choker and open-toe heels.

Cara Delevingne added an edgy touch in a semi-sheer red gown with a dramatic cape. Andie MacDowell chose a sophisticated white floor-length gown with metallic cuffs.

The event also marked Kristen Bell’s runway debut. The actress, who became a global L’Oréal Paris ambassador in August, wore a black strapless jumpsuit with a sculpted bodice and cut-out detail.

Viola Davis, Aja Naomi King, Marie Bochet, Luma Grothe and Beatrice Vio, also known as Bebe Vio Grandis, joined Bell on the runway. Iris Berben, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lindsey Vonn, Precious Lee, Anitta and Amy Jackson Westwick were among the other personalities taking part in the show.

Behind the scenes, global makeup artist Harold James and his team worked alongside hair expert Stéphane Lancien to create the beauty looks for the presentation.

The show brought together women from different generations, cultures and backgrounds while highlighting L’Oréal Paris’ long-running message of confidence and self-worth.

The evening ended with an unexpected musical appearance by Celine Dion. The singer, who previously served as a L’Oréal Paris ambassador, performed her 2002 hit “I’m Alive” for the audience.

Dion is currently in Paris for her concert residency, for which L’Oréal Paris is also serving as a beauty partner. The residency is scheduled to continue through May 2027.
