Ali Amin suffered electric shocks in custody, claims brother

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Faisal Amin Gandapur has claimed that his brother and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur was subjected to electric shocks while in the custody of Punjab Police.

In a statement issued from Peshawar, Faisal alleged that Ali Amin was given electric shocks to the back of his neck while he was being held by the Punjab Police.

He said the painful injury had continued to trouble his brother for years. According to Faisal, Ali Amin eventually underwent surgery to remove the affected area, resulting in nine stitches at the back of his neck.

Faisal also shared photographs of Ali Amin Gandapur on social media, showing the area where he said the surgery had been performed.

The PTI lawmaker said he had initially been reluctant to make the photographs public. However, he claimed that he decided to share them in response to what he described as propaganda surrounding his brother’s condition.

“I did not want to share this, but I am doing so because of the propaganda being spread by some people,” Faisal said.

He further criticised those he accused of spreading the claims and said they would understand the seriousness of such suffering if a similar incident happened to someone close to them.

The allegations have been made by Faisal Amin Gandapur, while no independent evidence or official statement from Punjab Police confirming the alleged use of electric shocks was included in his statement.

Ali Amin Gandapur, a senior PTI leader, previously served as chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His detention and treatment while in custody have remained subjects of political discussion among PTI supporters and officials.
