Responding to questions, the federal law minister said Safdar was a respected individual but did not belong to the legal profession or the bar. He argued that people outside a particular profession should exercise caution before commenting on its elections and internal affairs.

Captain Safdar subsequently responded to the minister’s remarks by highlighting his own political experience. He said his political experience was greater than that of those criticising him.

Safdar is a prominent political figure and is married to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz while Tarar serves as the federal minister responsible for the law and justice portfolio and is himself a senior lawyer.
