Captain from Sialkot martyred during Ziarat recovery operation

SIALKOT: Captain Hafiz Ziaullah of the Pakistan Army, a resident of Doburji Miliyan in Sialkot, was martyred while leading a recovery operation in Ziarat, Balochistan, following an attack on a security post.

The body of the officer was brought to his native area, where a large number of residents, political and social figures, relatives and members of the security forces gathered to receive him.

As the ambulance carrying the body reached Doburji Miliyan, people showered rose petals on the coffin. The atmosphere remained emotional as residents raised slogans in support of the Pakistan Army and paid tribute to the martyred officer.

A large number of people also gathered to attend the funeral prayers and catch a final glimpse of the officer. Security arrangements were tightened in the area, with contingents of the Pakistan Army and police deployed around the venue.

According to family members, Captain Ziaullah had been serving in Balochistan for nearly two years. He was the son of late Professor Rana Saeedullah and was also the father of a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

Sources said the officer was leading a team dispatched for a recovery operation in Ziarat after an attack on a security post. He was martyred during the operation.

The funeral prayer of Captain Hafiz Ziaullah was offered at Mubarak Mosque in the presence of a large number of people, including military personnel, police officials, political and social figures, relatives and local residents.

The officer was later laid to rest at a local graveyard with full military honours. A contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honour to the martyred officer.

Residents of Doburji Miliyan expressed grief over the loss and offered condolences to the bereaved family. They said Captain Ziaullah had sacrificed his life while performing his duty and defending the country.

The martyrdom of the army officer cast a pall of grief over his native area, where people continued to pay tribute to him after his burial.

The funeral and burial were attended by a large number of residents, reflecting the respect and sympathy of the local community for the family of the deceased officer.
