China National Day Celebrations

The exact date of China’s revolution success starts from the 1st of October 1949, when the Communist revolution became successful. It was the beginning of a new Communist China, where the struggle was started by the foundation of the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese Communist Party was formed in July 1921, when they started a struggle that ended after a historically long march led by the visionary leader Chairman Mao. We have to start with the history of where exactly Chinese society started to transform its system and gradually got successful on the said day, October the 1st.

At this special moment, the ceremony was arranged by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China. His Excellency Sun Yan arranged a big ceremony at Crystal Hall, Pearl Continental Lahore. It was an occasion where they invited people from different sectors, such as diplomats, politicians, media, business groups, and the local Chinese community living in Pakistan. The ceremony started as per schedule at 1 o’clock.

The welcome speech delivered by H.E. was a road map driven by the policies and consistency of the Chinese Government, showing how they are heading towards success and acknowledging China as a global superpower. He specially expressed the key words said by Chairman Xi: “to share a common future.” Similarly, he expressed the concern of the Chinese Government to develop resilience against natural disasters. Here, there was also a concept of hospitality shown by his words—a speech covering global aspects in a few minutes.

Endorsing the long-time friendship of China and Pakistan, with diplomatic relations starting from 1951, when the Pakistan Embassy was established in China, we are heading towards strengthening our geopolitical relations. It has ever been proved by time that our long-time brotherhood has been proven not only economically but also strategically. Who can forget that golden time when Pakistan got massive support in a war that happened in 2025 with its strategic rival, India, which tried its best to push Pakistan into a corner? I further want to assure that the strategic depth of Pakistan’s military, which depends mainly on ammunition procurement from China, is more than 80%.

With the global project of BRI, as CPEC is a flagship project, the geographical position of Pakistan has been identified more significantly. With the development of these ties, Pakistan is definitely heading towards financial strength that might mark the beginning of a new era. As Chairman Xi stated, if you need peace in your country, you make sure that your neighboring country should also be at peace. And if you really want to head towards social success, you need to make sure about your overall development; that means your neighboring countries should also head towards economic success. This is a global model to be adopted for all humankind.

The prosperity should be a common objective, and with the struggle of 106 years, China has successfully shown global success, enabling us to adopt a model that is not only based on social values but whose consistency started with a vision, carried out by the political legacy.

The speech delivered by the chief guest, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed, said that China has successfully brought 80% of its population beyond the poverty level. But I further want to say that the Chinese Government has successfully managed to enable 90% of its population to deserve and own their own home. That is a real revolution where the success ratio can touch the ground level. I am confident to say that there is almost no poverty level left in China, with a population of 1.4 billion people. Is it that we take this system as a role model which has successfully transformed a society into a giant?

I have personally experienced, in my last 24 years, how successfully China created a model not only for the development of its own region, but people can see the impacts gradually transformed at the rural level. Within these 24 years, I can see China as a more secure and progressive society, where the confidence of the people always respects their system.

With all this economic success, China has globally empowered itself as a strategic giant. Although the Chinese Government in the past has never involved itself directly in any kind of conflict, it still remains committed to one China policy. That means Taiwan, which was supported by Western governments and especially by the Americans, is always considered to be an integral part of China, and the Pakistan Government has always supported the One China policy.

Taiwan, with its almost 5 million population, they are all traditionally Chinese-speaking, the Mandarin and Fujian languages. With their blood relations all across China, the Pakistan Government has always believed that Taiwan is an integral part of China.

And with the geopolitical strength, the same as Hong Kong was peacefully delivered to China in 1997 and the small state of Macau in 1998, one day China will be united as one China, which was dreamed of by Chairman Mao almost 77 years before. China is heading towards its unification very peacefully and has proved a policy that a nation can never be divided by any kind of external influence.

Pakistan is a peaceful neighbour with China, successfully marking its geographical dimensions in 1963, where we settled our boundaries with China, successfully marking the legal right on K2. But the Pakistan Government marked a successful relationship between China and Pakistan, going towards success.

So today, we are maintaining successful relations with our neighboring country, the People’s Republic of China, which is not only a role model globally but also for Pakistan.
