London: Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team captain Fatima Sana says she is optimistic that the team will deliver a strong performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Speaking exclusively, Fatima Sana said that the warm-up matches before the World Cup would help boost the players confidence. She added that all squad members are confident and prepared to produce excellent performances.
Fatima Sana said it is encouraging to see supporters of all participating teams present at the tournament and the team is enjoying the atmosphere. She further stated that she is currently in good rhythm and will try her best to help the team win matches while delivering strong personal performances.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on June 12 with the opening match between England and Sri Lanka. Pakistan Women will start their World Cup campaign against traditional rivals India in Birmingham on June 14. They will then face South Africa on June 17.
The national women’s team will play their third group-stage match against Bangladesh in Southampton on June 20 followed by a clash against Australia at Headingley on June 23. Their final group match will be against the Netherlands in Bristol on June 27.
