The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) Karachi has released crime statistics for the month of May. The report highlights a high number of criminal incidents across the city.
According to the CPLC, more than 4,500 incidents were reported in Karachi during May. Citizens were targeted in cases involving car snatching, motorcycle theft, and mobile phone snatching.
The data shows that a total of 4,682 incidents were recorded in May. These included 20 cases of car snatching and 106 cases of car theft.
During the same month, 445 motorcycles were snatched in different areas of the city. In addition, 2,240 motorcycles were reported stolen.
Mobile phone snatching remained a major issue, with 1,860 cases reported in May alone.
The report also states that one bank robbery occurred during the month. However, no cases of kidnapping for ransom were reported. Ten cases of extortion were registered as well.
