Two separate alleged rape and murder cases involving a four-year-old girl and a 36-year-old woman have surfaced in the Saddar police Jalal

GUJRAT: Two separate alleged rape and murder cases involving a four-year-old girl and a 36-year-old woman have surfaced in the Saddar police Jalal pur Jattan jurisdiction, presenting an early challenge for newly posted District Police Officer (DPO) Faisal Shahzad.

Police sources said both incidents occurred in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Saddar police station Jalal pur Jattan Gujrat. The DPO visited the scenes of both incidents as police launched investigations.

In the first case, a four-year-old girl, identified as Noor Fatima, was allegedly sexually assaulted by her cousin before being killed.

According to preliminary information, the child’s body was allegedly thrown into a drain after her death. A search operation was still underway at the time of filing this report, while the body had not yet been recovered.

Police and rescue teams were searching the drain and nearby areas in an effort to locate the child’s body. The exact circumstances surrounding the alleged crime were being investigated.

In the second incident, a 36-year-old woman, identified as Fauzia, was allegedly sexually assaulted before being murdered in a separate incident in the same Saddar police area.

Police said the woman was allegedly attacked with bricks and later died from her injuries. Preliminary investigations suggested that the suspect in the case was the son of her brother-in-law.

The two incidents, reported within the jurisdiction of the same police station, have raised serious concerns over violence against women and children in the district.

Newly appointed Gujrat DPO Faisal Shahzad personally visited both locations and reviewed the initial progress of the investigations. He directed police officials to thoroughly investigate the cases and examine all possible aspects.

The incidents are being treated as an early test for the new district police chief, who has recently taken charge in Gujrat.

Police sources said that suspects in both cases had allegedly been taken into custody, while investigators were continuing to collect evidence and record statements.

However, by the time this report was filed, neither the body of four-year-old Noor Fatima had been recovered nor had formal FIRs been registered in connection with the two alleged murders, according to the information available to this reporter.

Police officials said investigations were continuing and that further legal action would be taken after completion of the preliminary investigation and collection of evidence.

The recovery of the child’s body remains a major focus of the investigation, while police are also examining the sequence of events and other possible aspects in both cases.

Authorities have not yet released complete official details regarding the alleged motives or the exact circumstances surrounding the incidents.
