Imran Khan confirms big-screen comeback after 10 years

Bollywood actor Imran Khan has officially announced his return to the big screen after a decade away from acting, sharing a special message with fans ahead of his comeback film.

The actor, 43, is set to return with Adhure Hum Adhure Tum, a grown-up romantic comedy directed by Danish Aslam. The upcoming Netflix film marks his first major acting project since Katti Batti, which was released in 2015 and starred Kangana Ranaut alongside him.

Imran had stepped away from acting following the film, leaving many fans waiting for his return. During his career, he became particularly recognised for his roles in romantic comedies, including I Hate Luv Storys, Break Ke Baad, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

Ahead of the new film’s release, Imran addressed his fans and explained what audiences can expect from his comeback project. He described Adhure Hum Adhure Tum as a deliberate response to what he sees as a lack of certain emotions and narratives in contemporary cinema.

The actor said the film is designed as a mature romantic comedy and suggested that audiences who enjoyed his earlier rom-coms may find something familiar in his latest project.

Imran also directly referenced his previous romantic-comedy films while presenting the new project as a continuation of the style that helped establish his popularity.

The upcoming film will see Imran share the screen with actress Bhumi Pednekar. The project is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere on Netflix later in 2026.

The announcement has renewed interest among Imran’s longtime fans, who have been anticipating his return to acting since his last theatrical appearance a decade ago.
